A will and estate plan, built for where you live.

For everyone in the US and Canada. Your will, your powers of attorney, and your health wishes, in plain words.

Start free. No credit card needed.

For anyone who wants their wishes written down.

You don't need to be wealthy. A will is about who, not how much.

It says who gets your things, who is in charge, and who would raise your children.

It is for parents, grandparents, single people, and couples. It is for renters and homeowners. It is for people with a business, and people without one.

What is in your plan

  • Your will

Says who receives your home, money, and things. Names the person who carries out your wishes. Names a guardian for young children.

  • A financial power of attorney

Names the person who can handle your money and bills if you cannot.

  • A health directive

Says who speaks for you about medical care, and what care you want, if you cannot speak for yourself.

  • A trust, if you want one (Complete)

A living trust can help your family skip some court steps after you are gone. A pour-over will sends anything you missed into the trust.

  • A gap report

Upload the papers you have. We show a plain-English summary and list what is missing or out of date. Free.

  • A plan that stays current

A person on our team watches for law changes and tells you if your plan is affected. We also prompt you after big life changes.

The names change by place. The jobs stay the same.

Your plan uses the document names for where you live.

See the rules where you live

We use your state or province to show the right documents, rules, and prices.

How it works

  1. Tell us where you live. We load the right rules and document names.
  2. Upload any papers you already have, or skip this step.
  3. Answer one question per screen. Everything saves on its own.
  4. Review your documents in plain words.
  5. Follow the signing steps for where you live.
  6. Keep your plan current. We prompt you when it is time.

Signing, step by step

A document only works if it is signed the right way. The rules depend on where you live and on the document.

Your will is printed and signed in ink, in front of witnesses. In most places that means two adult witnesses who are not named in your will.

Your power of attorney and health directive have their own rules. Some need witnesses. Some need a notary.

We give you a printed checklist for each document. You check off each step as you go.

Remote online notarization where your state allows it, never for wills.

If you live in Quebec

In Quebec, we prepare a will you sign in front of two witnesses. After a death, a court or notary verifies it. If you want a notarial will, we will refer you to a notary.

Lawyer review available

Want a lawyer to look over your plan? Add a lawyer review for a flat $299. It is included in Concierge.

Lawyer review is a flat fee. The lawyer, not Succession Plan, gives the advice.

Prefer to meet in person? An in-person lawyer visit is $1,000, where available.

When equal isn't fair

One child cares for you. One lives far away. One runs the family business. The Complete plan lets you try different splits and see what each person receives, in dollars.
