Terms of Use
Draft of October 28, 2026
What Succession Plan is
Succession Plan is self-help software. You answer questions. We build documents from your answers.
Succession Plan is not a law firm. We do not give legal advice or tax advice. For advice, talk with your own lawyer or accountant.
Using the software does not make us your lawyer.
Lawyer review
Lawyer review is your choice. It is a flat fee. The lawyer, not Succession Plan, gives the advice.
When a lawyer reviews your plan, that lawyer works for you.
We never take a share of a lawyer's fee. We never pay a lawyer for sending us a family.
Your documents and signing
You decide what goes in your documents. Please read each one before you sign it.
We never say a document is valid. Follow the steps your state or province requires to sign.
You print your will and sign it in ink with witnesses. We do not offer online signing for wills.
Business planning
Any value we show for a business is an estimate. This is an estimate, not a formal valuation.
We get you and your business ready to sell, then refer you to a broker or marketplace. We are not a business broker.
How we use AI
We use AI to read documents you upload. You check and accept every fact before it enters your plan.
Fees and refunds
Estate plans have one setup fee. Your first year is included. After that, a yearly fee applies.
30-day money-back guarantee on estate setup fees.
The guarantee does not cover yearly fees or add-ons. It does not cover business plans or advisory work.
To ask for a refund, talk to a person within 30 days of paying.
Your account
Please keep your details correct and your sign-in codes private.
You decide who can see your plan. You can change that at any time.
Your documents are yours. You can download them, even after you cancel.
If something looks wrong
Laws change and mistakes can happen. If a document looks wrong, tell us.
Use the Talk to a person page. We log every report and answer it.
Limits
We work hard to keep the software correct. We cannot promise it is free of errors.
The law where you live may give you rights. These terms do not take those rights away.
Which laws apply
These terms follow the laws that apply where you live.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you first.
How to reach a person
You can always reach a real person. Use the Talk to a person page to call us or ask for a call back.
