How signing works in Florida

Signing your will

  1. Gather two adult witnesses. It is best if they are not people named in your will.
  2. Sign your will at the end while both witnesses watch.
  3. Each witness signs while you and the other witness watch.
  4. You may also sign a short sworn form before a notary with both witnesses. It helps the court accept the will later.
  5. Keep the original somewhere safe.

Florida has an electronic will law. We still prepare a will you print and sign in ink.

Remote online notarization where Florida allows it, never for wills.
